FAQs

WHO IS THE LIfTS COMMUNITY HUB FOR?

This site is primarily intended for educators who:
A: Have some knowledge of the sources of traumatic stress and its effects on students;
B: Want to be involved in a community of practitioners focused on the development, implementation, and assessment of strategies designed to foster trauma-sensitive environments.

WHAT CONTENT WILL BE SHARED HERE?

We will post descriptions of successful trauma-sensitive practices that have been implemented by our members, and provide an opportunity for community members to comment and discuss with a view toward improving practice.  We believe that providing practitioners with a supportive community focused on trauma-sensitive practice will benefit both students and staff.

WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE LESLEY UNIVERSITY WEBSITE AND THE LIfTS COMMUNITY HUB?

Information that is of more general interest e.g., course announcements, public events, articles that feature stories of our partner districts, will continue to appear in the LIfTS area of the Lesley University website. The Community Hub will focus on practitioner issues (including related research and resources) and will offer a level of interactivity among the members.

WILL ACCESS TO THE LIfTS COMMUNITY HUB BE RESTRICTED?

Although there is no fee required to access the LIfTS Community Hub, it will be password protected. Passwords will generally be provided to students who have previously or are currently participating in LIfTS courses.
