Change begins when we see every learner through the lens of possibility

Together, we lift stories that move education forward.

  • Changes Makers

Every act of care creates a ripple. At LIfTS, we recognize the educators who turn understanding into action and classrooms into communities of belonging. This space celebrates their stories—the sparks that light the path toward trauma-sensitive, inclusive education for all.

  • Anchors of Hope

Creating trauma-sensitive schools requires vision, teamwork, and courage. Through the Anchors of Hope recognition, LIfTS honors school communities that transform understanding into daily practice—embedding compassion, equity, and resilience into the fabric of their culture.

  • Voices from the Field

From research to real-world practice, these voices reveal how trauma-sensitive education takes shape every day. Voices from the Field shares insights from LIfTS graduates who are redefining what safety, equity, and connection look like in learning environments everywhere.

Every movement for equity and inclusion begins with a spark—a single voice that inspires others to act. At the Lesley Institute for Trauma Sensitivity (LIfTS), we are honored to walk alongside educators who transform this spark into waves of change. These Change Makers embody the belief that all students deserve to be safe, supported, and deeply valued. By lifting their stories, we not only celebrate their courageous work, but also invite others to join a growing community committed to building trauma-sensitive, inclusive schools. Each year, we highlight two powerful expressions of this commitment:

Fall – Voices from the Field: Our graduates share their voices, grounded in action research and reflective practice, demonstrating how trauma-sensitive approaches create real change in classrooms and schools.

Spring – Anchors of Hope: We recognize entire school communities with the Safe and Supportive Trauma-Sensitive School Award, honoring their leadership in cultivating equity, belonging, and resilience for every learner. Together, these stories serve as both recognition and invitation—proof that change is possible, and encouragement to take the next step.
